“Alexis is the best! She has been working with my 3 year old son for the last year and a half. When he first started speech therapy, he had not one word. Since his sessions with Alexis, he's been making amazing strides and making so much progress while working with her. She also introduced us to AAC devices, letting us know that it would be extremely beneficial to our son. The joy that he has to be able to communicate with us using this device has been an extreme blessing. Alexis has definitely been instrumental in helping my son with his vocabulary growth and he's not as frustrated as much due to lack of communication. My son absolutely adores her as well and he always looks forward to sessions with her.
During COVID where everyone was turning to teletherapy to do speech sessions, I was nervous about my son regressing with the lack of one on one sessions. However, every session, Alexis worked tirelessly to keep my child engaged and focused. She is inventive, patient and so knowledgeable. She also spent so much time with me doing parent education and giving me the tools necessary so that I could have the skills to help him while at home. Online or one-on-one, she gives it her all.
If you need an assessment for your child who has a delay in speech, I would definitely highly recommend giving Alexis a call! Scheduling with her is also so easy as she is always very flexible and accommodating. Thanks, Alexis for being a continuing source of support for my son.”

One of my favorite moments every week has been seeing my son's face light up when Alexis walks through the door. In a very short time she has built a strong connection with him. She is a master of coming up with engaging activities that generate a lively back and forth between them and ultimately motivate my son to speak. Her energy, creativity, and empathy are wonderful.
Alexis is also fantastic at drawing me and my husband into the speech therapy sessions and teaching us key principles and strategies for engagement. She is just as patient with us as she is with our son (very much needed when you are an overwhelmed parent), and has been very effective at getting us to transform how we interact with our kid.
In a bit over six months, my son has made a noticeable progress against his speech goals and I am so grateful for Alexis' commitment to his wellbeing and development.

“When my Son was 2, I felt his speech was a little behind. I received an in depth analysis from Alexis and she explained where he was at and where the average 2 year old should be. I was shocked that even after just 1 session my Son was saying 3 new words he had never said before! Alexis gave me tools to use, so I could become a teacher as well. He was only saying "yes" or "no" mostly and it was because I was asking him "yes" or "no" questions only. She taught me to do/say patterns that he could finish. For example, I would say "up" and throw him up, then "down" when I brought him down. I did this several times and instead of saying "up", I paused and he finished the verbal pattern and yelled "up!". I was ecstatic and now that he's up to speed on speech, he is a little over 2.5 now and we took a few months off, but will start up again because he needs help with pronunciation. Alexis is patient, extremely knowledgeable in her field and most importantly, she not only works with your child, she will give you the tools you need to help your child. She brings all her medical and technical knowledge to life with fun games. I am so grateful for her service and for making my Son's educational foundation strong enough to build on.”

“We are so appreciative and happy with Mrs. Alexis Macias. She is a wonderful person who is super humble and down to earth. Our son absolutely loves her! He looks forward to play-based speech therapy with her via telehealth. He's only 2 years old and loves the fun they have together. She really makes speech therapy a whole lot of fun. Our son started making progress with his speech and has a couple of words to communicate his wants and needs. She slowly taught him sign language signs, sounds, and that all evolved to functional communication for him. It has made a world of difference between when he had 0 communication besides crying/tantrumming to the now - a confident toddler who communicates his wants. We absolutely love her!!
